Why we have a vacuum on each floor

There are several reasons to have a vacuum clean on each floor if you have a multiple floor home. In our case we have a 2 story house with a basement. Technically we have a vacuum on each of the three floors. That may seem like a wasteful expense to some, and if you can't afford it then don't do it, but there are several advantages.

1. When I see something that needs vacuuming I have one readily available and I don't have to walk far to get it.

2. I don't have to hurt my back lugging a large vacuum up and down stairs.

3. I can buy them used at garage sales and auctions in order to save a lot of money.

4. I can have different types of vacuums. I actually have a Hoover, Dyson and Oreck in the house, plus a Kirby in the garage! The flexibility is wonderful.

5. I can have an "outdoor vacuum" for my garage mudroom and entryway area. This keeps the really bad dirt from accidently tracking back into the house.

Overall, if you can afford it, I recommend multiple vacuums.
